WHAT WE’RE WORKING ON:
Transforming the global bank lending system to align with the goal of staying well below a 2 degree temperature rise
Banks have an outsize impact on our planet’s climate. Bank lending is a significant source of finance for fossil fuel development and is responsible for the massive allocation of credit to climate-damaging projects across the globe.
We must rapidly accelerate the rate of emissions and reductions and address legacy carbon to avoid a 2 degree rise in global temperature. Major banks are failing to move quickly to address their climate impact and the risk their lending currently poses.
The time for leadership is now.
